History Of Tequila

Tequila, or the practice of making an agave plant, dates back to 1,000 years BC, when the Aztecs used the sap of the agave plant (specifically maguey) to ferment a drink known as pulque. So, this is not the place to be in the world of the gods, but it is a gift from heaven: Mayahuel, the goddess of maguey, and her husband Patecatl, the god of pulque.

Tequila is recognized worldwide for its exceptional quality, its unique flavor and its great versatility to be mixed with an infinite variety of ingredients and thus create extraordinary drinks, among the most successful of which is the margarita.

Denomination of Origin

Which means that it can only be produced in five states of the Mexican Republic. Jalisco stands out as the only state where all its municipalities have the authorization to produce this emblematic drink. The states of Guanajuato, Michoacán, Nayarit and Tamaulipas are the only municipalities that have the Denomination to produce it.

  • 100% Agavea Tequila: This type of tequila is obtained from the fermentation of 100% of the sugars of the Agave Tequila Weber Blue Variety. It is distinguished by its authenticity, quality, and can only be bottled at the production factory.

The Reposado Tequila

Is the most popular among palates. According to statistical figures, it is the most sold tequila in the world. Reposado tequila spends a minimum of two months to a maximum of a year in a barrel. During that time it begins to acquire greater body and soft woody notes.

Get to know our company

Casa Alebrije is a leading company founded with the purpose of offering tequila of the highest quality straight from Jalisco, Mexico. We offer products from our own agave plantations and take pride in delivering the highest quality tequila straight to your palate. Currently exporting to the United States; Casa Alebrije is a 100% Mexican company. We are proud to manufacture and process tequila with the commitment to help our community. Part of our profits will go to help people who live on the streets, abandoned children and single mothers. Our commitment and main purpose is to help people who need it the most.

Agave

We have had our own Agave plantations since 2023. In addition, we also have Agave supply contracts directly with owners of the Agave properties. Therefore, we have the necessary supply for production and demand that is required.

Jima

Our agaves have an average Brix degree of 24 to 28 brix sugar content, which helps us have excellent performance when producing our Tequilas. We always harvest our agaves in the months before the rainy season, and two months after when the rainy season ends. All our Jima is glued to the heart of the Agave, thereby avoiding the cuticle of the stalk, which can cause the production of unwanted oils or fats from the cuticle of the stalk.
